This policy attempts to keep you informed of what data is being collected and why. Know that we value your privacy and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://www.christianperspective.net.

You can reach us at info@christianperspective.net. You can learn more about us on our About Us page.

How We Protect Your Data

We value your privacy. We never rent or sell your information.

We use https on all traffic, meaning our site always loads through a secure connection.

We have Google use IP Anonymization to protect your privacy when tracking website statistics so we can improve our site.

We use trusted third-party services to handle certain site functions. For example, we use PayPal to handle credit card processing to ensure your information is well protected.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

View our cookie policy.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Example: Videos on this site are often embedded from YouTube and Vimeo.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Store

While you visit our site, we’ll track information such as:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details (for your security, credit cards are tracked completely on PayPal), and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store information such as your name, address, email, and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We use Google Analytics to track our store usage (see the Analytics section below).

In order to actually process your orders, we receive an email that then gets stored in our email services (such as Gmail) indefinitely as a record of the purchase in case there are future questions.

Information is stored as long as needed. For example, we will store all order information indefinitely for tax and accounting purposes and in order to provide excellent customer service. This includes information such as your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, purchases, order number, and purchase method. Accounts you create will also stay indefinitely so you will have access to any digital products purchased.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds, and support you.

For payments with PayPal: Your purchase total, currency, and billing information is sent to PayPal so they can process your payment (see below).

To determine taxes: The value of goods in the cart, value of shipping, and destination address are sent to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy for details about how they handle this information.

Payments

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total, currency, and billing information.

Please see the PayPal Privacy Policy for more details.

Analytics

Google Analytics uses cookies to help us monitor the website’s usage, thereby helping us improve. Data is stored there indefinitely in order to help us better track site usage and improvements. To protect your privacy, IP addresses are anonymized. You can opt out here.

Email List

When you select to receive an email from us, it may collect such information as your name (so we better know who is signing up for our mailings and can personalize them as needed), title, email, state (so we know where our audience is based), signup IP, and confirmation timestamp. This information is stored by our website to help us see the performance of each form and check that the names are adding to the lists correctly, as well as sent to Mad Mimi, a GoDaddy company we use to send out our emails, in order to allow us to actually send the emails. You can opt out at any time, and we never rent or sell our list. Using Mad Mimi, we track stats such as views and clicks of emails to help us know if our emails are being read and what content is valuable to people so that we can improve them; you can opt out of stat tracking, as well as of the emails themselves, at any time. Just choose the “Preferences” button at the bottom of any email from us to adjust your settings.

Login Attempts

For security purposes, information on login attempts that is needed to protect the site is tracked and stored indefinitely.

Who We Share Your Data With

We share information with third parties who help us provide our services to you; for example:

  • our website host (SiteGround) and any third parties they use to fulfill that task (you can view SiteGround’s policy here),
  • MadMimi (a GoDaddy company) to collect email addresses for those signing up for emails from us (see email list above), and
  • PayPal to process credit card purchases (see payments above).

While most of our website work is done in house, we also occasionally obtain technical help from a trusted source, giving them temporary access to anything on our website itself in order to troubleshoot a problem or otherwise work on the site.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. This holds true if you click on the social share buttons as well–they will take you to the appropriate social media site, which will collect information based on their privacy settings.

Who on Our Team Has Access

We give access to the site owner, as well as the director of operations, in order to maintain the site and fulfill orders.

How Long We Retain Your Data

We will store order information indefinitely for tax and accounting purposes and in order to provide excellent customer service. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses. We also store analytic information indefinitely, as that allows us to see how our website has changed over time, thereby helping us improve.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Information collected to email you is stored indefinitely, so we can send you emails, track form success, and have a record of information and consent collected.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
