Math from a Christian PerspectiveBiblical...Math? Is That Possible?Yes! Math is actually an incredible testimony to God's faithfulness! Discover how you can teach biblical principles in math and show your children how to use math for God's glory!
Math is NOT neutralGrowing up in a Christian homeschool family, I learned to look at subjects from a biblical worldview--that is, every subject except math. Like most people, I grew up viewing math as a neutral subject filled with facts and numbers. I couldn't imagine how math could possibly be taught biblically. However, during my senior year I read a book called Mathematics: Is God Silent? (see our other math resource section) and realized that math was NOT neutral like I'd always thought. Math was really a testimony to God's faithfulness! I can't begin to describe the difference this knowledge made. Math suddenly became both meaningful and exciting. I realized that all those years that I thought I'd been learning math neutrally I'd really been swallowing worldly, humanistic thinking. It is my prayer that the resources we have here will help you and your children discover God in your math class. May we look to Him everywhere--including math! -Katherine Loop

Exploring the World of Mathematics
Exploring the World of Mathematics by John Hudson Tiner does an excellent job sharing some of the history and practicality of math without containing the typical evolutionary baisis. However, it does not explain the biblical worldview on math. Developed in such a way that elementary through high school students can enjoy it, this book works well as a supplement to any math curriculum. Hudson writes in an easy-to-read style (I have been reading it before bed each night), yet at the same time includes a few thought-provoking math problems at the end of each chapter. Students of different ages and skill levels can use this fascinating book. Intended as a supplement to a homeschool curriculum, it’s more than just a math book. Tracing the history of mathematics principles and theory, it includes stories and tips showing math to be practical for everyday use. Included are: • Basic mathematical principles including some simple algebra, geometry, and scientific math • Egyptian and Greek contributions to mathematics • Math involving time, the seasons, and measurement • Lots of fun activities illustrating mathematical principles • Chapter tests (answers included in back) • Over 150 illustrations and diagrams $13.99 Truth and the Transcendent
